Which is exactly what I did and my little bisexual heart is singing for joy over the fun, cute, and even a bit suspenseful read.

My Thoughts
Pumpkin Spice and Poltergeist by Ali K Mulford and K Elle Morrison was the perfect read for this Halloween season. I needed something cute, whimsical, funny, but still had a plot that kept you guessing and this book had all of that.
What started as a drunken lonely night where a witch, Jordyn, summoned the ghost of her ex from the afterlife, turned into the inability for Lou to go back from whence she came. Now Lou is bound and determined to help Jordyn move on and find someone new to love.
“Did you seriously take my favorite shirt to the afterlife?” – Pumpkin Spice and Poltergeist by Ali K Mulford and K Elle Morrison
Harlow, a human, who just arrived in the small town of Maple Hallow is simply swinging through till she gets back on her feet after yet another failure in her life. Feeling a bit down on herself she’s hoping to help her sister with her cafe in the small town.
Except this small town is not entirely normal. No, paranormal creatures and the supernatural are all real and the town is filled with them. Harlow’s been looking for a place to belong, and for once, this town, and the witch who runs the apothecary down the street, seem like a good fit for her.
Was she queer, or was she just magical? Although a lot of times, it felt like the same thing. – Pumpkin Spice and Poltergeist by Ali K Mulford and K Elle Morrison
That is until mishaps and accidents happen, throwing Harlow right back into the place she was starting to pull herself out of. All she wants is to make her sister proud, to do something right with her life, but as usual everything seems to fall apart around her.
This book had quite a few giggle kick moments in it. There were plenty of scenes where these two enjoyed their make out sessions, while also having a few cutesy moments like cuddling and falling asleep together. As far as spice goes, we get two scenes a little later in the story, but since it’s a shorter book the payoff happens pretty quickly.
I fought the smile pulling my lips up at the way she said “us.” As if after one date, we were already a couple. As if there were an “us” after a single kiss. God, I loved women. In two more dates, I would be ready to adopt a cat with her. – Pumpkin Spice and Poltergeist by Ali K Mulford and K Elle Morrison
There is something beautiful about Harlow. Her ADHD often leaves her feeling like she’s failing at everything in life, when the reality is much different. She takes criticism hard, and hates disappointing her loved ones. This is relatable on so many freaking levels.
Not only was she able to meet and fall in love with someone who accepts her exactly as she is, she also learned to accept her own “imperfections.” Because honestly, no one is perfect and it’s those unique things about us, maybe our hyper focus or the way we can multi task even in chaos, that makes us perfectly who we are.
There are a boat load of side characters that I loved in this story. I adore when a small town romance includes all the quirky characters we grow to love and can’t wait to read about in later books.
If you are looking for small town paranormal with kitschy Halloween vibes, and a plot that might keep you guessing, this book is for you.
