That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming Review

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted A Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming was the first book I grabbed once I learned that the entire Mead Mishaps series was back on Kindle Unlimited. After Saved A Demon, I knew I needed to finish out the series. Now I stalk Kimberly Lemming’s socials for announcements for more books going to Kindle Unlimited.

Premise

Brie had enough of Jack and the way he basically stalked her. The man annoyed the hell out of her and refused to stop making advances. She’d even resorted to throwing potatoes at him to get him to back off. Then, after he makes her a drink, she tries to throw it at him but it instead hits a werewolf, Felix, and of course, Brie didn’t know the drink was a love potion. Now Felix is convinced she’s his fated mate.

My Thoughts

Once again, Kimberly Lemming made me fall in love with her writing, and just like the first book of the Mead Mishaps series, I was laughing hysterically and fell hard for the characters she created.

“Potatoes are by far the most versatile crop. You can fry them up, bake them, or throw them at undesirable men who refuse to leave you alone.” – That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted A Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming

First off, I might have a little bit of an obsession with potatoes, so when the book started with the above quote, I was hooked. Once again I canceled my plans, hunkered down for the day, and spent it with my favorite cozy fantasy author. As I mentioned in this post, cozy might mean something different for me than it would for others.

Kimberly did not skimp on spice in this book and while Dubcon is trigger warned, it’s only because our MMC was hit with a love potion on accident. Felix, our werewolf, is completely head over heels for Brie. She, feeling bad about the love potion, is trying to convince Felix that there is no way she is his fated mate.

“If you need me, don’t.” – That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted A Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming

Kimberly Lemming does an amazing job with character growth in her books. They are action packed and filled with spicy goodness, yet she is still able to make the reader grow attached to the characters she created.

Of course the side characters play a major role in this book as it had the first. Additionally, we get to see Cin and Fallon from book one and even more amazing side character appear for the reader to fall for.

“My friend rested a hand on her cheek, before a slow crooked grin spread across her face. “He blew your back out, didn’t he?” – That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted A Love Potion at a Werewolf by Kimberly Lemming

If you are looking for a short fantasy novel, with a bit of dark romantic comedy, and cozy vibes all in one, this book and the entire series is absolutely what you want to read. You will curl up and read the whole book in one sitting.

Once again there were no major twists in the plot, however, the chaos that is Boohail comes through so you won’t see certain scenes coming. It’s part of why I love Kimberly’s writing style so much. She always adds a bit of unpredictable hilarity to her books that I just can’t get enough of.
