As soon as I finished the second book in the Mead Mishaps series, I had to grab That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Human by Kimberly Lemming to finish out the series. And again, I spent the day laughing, and enjoying the world crafted by my favorite cozy fantasy author.

Premise
Cherry had been stolen and held captive on an island by a freaking dragon, and despite her attempts to leave always being thwarted, she’s still trying to rescue her damn self. But when Dante, another dragon, who came to check on his friend, finds Cherry, a plan ignites. What Cherry doesn’t know is that she just drugged her fated mate, and he was going to rescue her before she even handed him the tea to drink.

My Thoughts
I absolutely loved Cherry and Dante. As with all the women in this series, Cherry is a strong and determined woman. She’s desperate to get back home to her family after being locked in a tower for the last five years. Dante gets one whiff of his fated mate and he’s a goner, willing to do anything to protect Cherry and make her happy while not losing her either. This book was just as hilarious as the last two while also sucking me into the world once again.
Just like the last two, you’ll find quite a bit of spice in this book. And the spice is very well done, but we love dragon shifters right? *Smirk*
“Dammit, I just said the word. The zippy bean juice.” “Do you mean coffee?” – That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Human by Kimberly Lemming
In this series, Kimberly has built this beautiful world with amazing side characters and brings all of it to life in your mind. She is masterful in providing a hilarious, sometimes sweet but spicy story with characters you feel drawn to, like you want to be besties with them. Then she has the mains go through this character growth, all in under 300 pages.
“My wife is a human. With big brown eyes, adorable dimples and a laugh that makes everything right with the world. And if anything happens to her, I will make you live through horrors so vile your grandchildren will weep!” – That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Human by Kimberly Lemming
Once again, this book follows the fantasy meets dark romantic comedy with a side of cozy. This book didn’t have quite as many darker scenes, though obsession (due to fated mates) still played a big role, and it just upped the cozy factors of the book.
Finally, Kimberly Lemming loves to add chaos and humor to her stories, so while there aren’t any massive twists in the story, you’ll never guess what’s going to happen next and I freaking love every single moment of it.
