My first introduction to Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe came for a video with a quote. Which let’s be honest, is how I find most books or series to read. Over the course of the last five years of my reading journey books always hook me with a quote first, and I was extremely grateful it had. I’ve enjoyed most of the Saint View series that I’ve read so far.
Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe
Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe is a why choose dark romance trilogy. The first book of the series was published on July 1st, 2022. Each book is between 360-400 pages. They are available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited, as well as the author’s website here.
Book Order:
- Start A War
- Half The Battle
- It Ends With Violence
Premise
After her brother was murdered, Bliss inherited his bar, Psychos. The other owner, her brother’s older best friend, wanted her to go back to her life of luxury but Bliss wasn’t having it. Fresh after a break-up, she was determined to reclaim her life. Not only was she going to find out who murdered her brother, but she was going to learn the ropes of the business that was left to her too, including the illegal hidden sex club.
She wasn’t expecting Nash, her brother’s bff; War, the MC President regular at the bar, and Vincent the sweet man she works with at her day job, to all want in on her mission.
Elle Thorpe has several series in this world and I started with this one, however I did go back to read Saint View High, and will read Saint View Prison too as characters from these books appear throughout the series, but it is not necessary to read all of the series to enjoy the others.
“I dismissed myself from jail. Without permission.” I gaped at him. “You escaped? How is that even possible?” “Is it supposed to be hard?” I sniggered, but then I sobered. “Come work for me.” – Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe
Triggers
As with most dark romance there are a laundry list of triggers in this series, some that may spoil a few things if I were to list every single one. Some you should be aware of are:
- Sexual Assault
- Domestic Violence
- Child Abuse
- Murder, Violence, and Death
- Sexually explicit scenes in a Why Choose experience.
My Thoughts
I felt every single emotion while reading Saint View Psychos. I laughed, cried, and even wanted to throw my tablet when I reached a cliff hanger. The entire series had me hooked, staying up late because I was sitting on the edge of my seat and needed to know what happened next. I loved every single second I spent reading this series.
This is a why choose dark romance series, MMFM, so there were quite a lot of spicy scenes. There were group scenes and individual scenes with the men as well. Furthermore the relationship dynamic was extremely well done.
“You want to know where she is, rich boy? She’s at my bar. Spread out naked on my desk. I stripped every piece of clothing from her body, and then I worshiped every inch of her. I erased every trace of you with my tongue. I went down on her, licking her sweet, wet, juicy pussy until she screamed my name loud enough for the entire bar to hear. My name, fuck boy. Not yours. Has she ever even uttered a sound when you fucked her with your tiny dick? You could never even get her wet, could you? And yet you call her frigid because you don’t know how to please her. You’re an embarrassment, Caleb. You’re a little boy, with a small dick, trying to play with the men. She doesn’t need you. She doesn’t fucking need anyone.” – Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe
If you’ve read anything by Elle Thorpe before you will not be disappointed in the character growth that takes place throughout Saint View Psychos. Not only do we see Bliss stepping into her own, but we see each of the men go through their own forms of growth too.
My personal favorite growth to see was Vincent. Without spoiling the series, his acceptance of himself was beautiful to see. Of course, I might have a soft spot for the protective and obsessive fictional man.
“I’m only gonna sneak around with you so long, Bliss. It’s fun, for now. But one day soon, I’m going to kiss you in front of everyone. Including War, and your dad, and all your friends.” His lips trailed along my jawline. “You can pretend you hate me. But I know how you moan when my cock is buried in your pussy. And I know how you’re gonna scream when I do it again.” – Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe
Furthermore, we got to meet Rebel, who is my favorite side character in this series, and thankfully got her own series which I’ll link the review to here.
Every book in this universe deals in some sort of rich/poor tropes. Saint View is a depressed area next to Providence which is well off. Both have struggles in corruption and crime, it’s just a difference in the types of crimes and how the people in the two towns cover them up. We see a lot of that here because Bliss was born in Saint View, but was raised in Providence by adopted parents.
You’re also going to get a hell of a lot of twists in the story. Many of them you won’t see coming and will likely have you sitting up straight and yelling at the book. Be prepared for the side-eye looks from anyone who lives with you.
Who Would Like Saint View Psychos by Elle Thorpe?
Tropes in this series include:
- Rich/Poor
- Brother’s BFF
- Motorcycle Club
- Why Choose
If you like the Madison Kate series by Tate James or The Harlequin Crew series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti, you will likely love this series and every other series in the universe so far. There is loads of dark humor, trauma, and fast paced action that will keep you reading till you finish the series, and then you’ll want more.
