My Thoughts
If you’ve been reading the series up until now, you know the motorcycle club has been going through it. Someone murdered the former president, there is a human trafficking ring connected, and betrayal from within has rocked the club to it’s core. In this book we finally get some answers to the burning questions we’ve been plagued with since the beginning.
Shivana is that woman. She is strong-willed, bad ass, and as loyal as they come. I absolutely love the way she protects the people she cares about, and is an excellent addition to the cast of characters in this series.
In fact, I was so in love with her, I actually messaged April just to rave about her. I love Shivana, entirely.
And Jackal? Well, he is the biker daddy we have all been waiting for. Stern, but genuinely caring, the absolute perfect blend of dominating and cuddly teddy bear we all love. And the mouth on this man? Phew, I’m gonna need a fan.
“You seem nervous. I can stop, Lil Bird.” “No!” I blurted. He chuckled. “Can I get an equally enthusiastic ‘yes I want to do this?’” “Yes! Hell yes!” – Jackal by April D Berry
We don’t have to wait long for the spice to kick in, and once it does you will not be disappointed. However, this book is heavy on the plot, and it’s exactly what will keep you turning pages.
“What do you think you’re doing?” “I should probably go.” “Oh no,” I said, grabbing her and yanking the blanket off. “You wanted me, Lil Bird. You got me now.” – Jackal by April D Berry
Shivana isn’t unaware of the world, or what type of environment she’s now involved in, but she also doesn’t necessarily respect it entirely, at least not at first. It takes her awhile to truly understand what’s at risk and why it’s important to trust that the men will keep her safe. That takes a lot being she prefers to stay in control at all times.
Jackal, he’s had to figure how to navigate keeping club secrets, and sharing when it’s necessary to do so. He’s also had to get over his ideas of what someone could handle or not handle.
“Now do you want to stew over your attitude or do you want me to fuck it out of you?” – Jackal by April D Berry
I especially loved how loyal each of the characters were to each other. They had each other’s backs and even when they didn’t know exactly how everything would turn out they put their trust in each other.
As always Mama Hen is a recurring favorite of mine, and I will seriously revolt if something bad happens to her. With each book in the series, we get to see more about her and just how strong she is.
Mama Hen tried to fight me, but I held her arms. “Don’t make me hit someone I call mama!” – Jackal by April D Berry
This book was pretty action packed, so if you are looking for a page turner that you can’t put down, this is it.
