I dove into Eagle by April D Berry so fast there was no stopping me. After the unanswered questions I had from Falcon I was ready to find out more. While not all of my questions were answered Eagle sure took me for a ride.
Eagle by April D Berry
Eagle by April D Berry is the second book in the Destiny’s Enforcers MC: Atlanta Chapter. It’s a motorcycle club romance published on December 13, 2024 and is 347 pages long. You can find the book on Amazon, Kindle Unlimited, and the author’s website here.
Premise
When Lacy first arrived at Destiny’s Enforcer’s club house, it was Eagle who helped her heal from recent trauma. Except Eagle wasn’t all in, and Lacy was starting to realize she deserved more. Breaking it off she disappears from the clubhouse. As Destiny’s Enforcers are chasing down human traffickers and the people who ordered their former president’s death, Eagle, their VP, is trying to find Lacy and win her back.
This is an interconnected series, I highly recommend reading Falcon first as there is an overarching plot.
Triggers
List the Triggers found in Eagle by April D. Berry include:

My Thoughts
First off, I’m a big fan of April D Berry. Not only do I consider her an author friend, but her books are always comfort reads for me. This series is a bit darker than some of her rom coms, but every time I pick up one of her books I know I can cozy up and escape into the world she’s built.
Eagle was one of these books for me. I finished up a series I was working on and immediately grabbed a copy before I settled in and read through the book, in one sitting. While I was secretly rooting for the main couple through the entire book, after his treatment of Lacy I was also yelling at her to make him grovel.
“Wait, why did I have to come with you to get carryout? I look like garbage.” His face swung to mine and that boyish grin I adored so much flashed across his features. “If that’s garbage, then call me the fucking me trash man, baby.” – Eagle by April D Berry
And grovel he did. I love when there is tension and flirting, but when he’s besides himself trying to find her after her disappearing act, it was amazing. Not only that but Lacy set some pretty hard boundaries and he did everything he could to follow them. Even when he wasn’t pleased with where Lacy ended up working, he never crossed a line and demanded she quit.
April always gives us good spice, and while there is spice early in the book, we have to wait a while before we get anymore. Eagle is a bit of dirty talker though and I live for a dirty talking MMC.
“Until I got her home, I’d have to remember to bring more condoms. Or just go for it and knock her up. Then she couldn’t get rid of me. We’d make pretty babies.” – Eagle by April D Berry
As I mentioned previously, Eagle had a bit of growth through the book, but so did Lacy. I loved seeing her find her own strength and demand better for herself. Yes, girl, you deserve better and more and everything. Eagle learned quickly that if he was gonna win back the woman, he needed to get intimate with her, and not in the sexual way, but in the ways that matter the most.
“Against my better judgment, I slowly put my hand over his. He threaded his fingers through mine and squeezed. Not too hard, but he wasn’t giving me noodle-hand. There’s nothing worse than a man holding your hand, but not. Like a wet noodle just hanging there and happens to be touching you.” – Eagle by April D Berry
For my favorite side characters, Mama Hen, Jeannie, and Jackal take the winning. And while I absolutely loved Daisy in this book, we did get a lot from her in the last one. Getting to know the club members a bit better really sucks you into the series and I cannot wait for the end of May when we finally get Jackal’s book.
Vibes of the book include giggle-kick moments interspersed into a suspenseful plot that will keep you guessing through the entire story.
As a forewarning, while our main couple gets a happy ended the overarching plot does continue with a few unanswered questions.
