Dark Romance

After reading Saint View Rebels, I immediately picked up Saint View Slayers vs Sinners by Elle Thorpe dying to know what happened with Kara. What I wasn’t prepared for was the emotional roller coaster the series would take me on as we dove into a religious cult and the trauma it inflicted on Kara and her daughter Hailey Jade.

Crossed by Emily McIntire is a Hunchback of Notre Dame re-imagining and I freaking loved this book. I will forewarn you, the villain main male character is a priest and he is in fact a villain.

I was incredibly excited when I found out we were getting Twisted by Emily McIntire. Aladdin was one of my two favorite Disney movies as a child and I couldn’t wait to see how Emily would twist it to give us a story where Jafar won the girl.

Wretched by Emily McIntire was the book I didn’t know I needed. Where “she’s the villain,” meets “golden retriever MMC.” I could not put this book down, I turned through the pages, stayed up late, and gobbled it up from beginning to end.

If you go into Scarred by Emily McIntire thinking this book will be similar in setting to Hooked, you will be shocked it’s not. Scarred is a re-imagining of the Lion King and we are in a fully fictional kingdom, not Massachusetts. That being said, I enjoyed this book immensely.

Hooked by Emily McIntire was one of the first introductions into dark romance. And what an introduction it was. Not only did I get a great story of revenge, but I learned I had a kink I didn’t realize I had.

After reading Saint View Psychos, I was so excited to read Saint View Rebels by Elle Thorpe. Unfortunately, it took me way too long to actually sit down and give the series a read. That has been fixed now since I recently did exactly that.
