15 Age Gap Book Recommendations

If you clicked on this post it’s likely because you are looking for a good age gap romance book and well I have quite a few for you, because I’m a sucker for an Age Gap. For me an age gap romance is anything with a gap over over 7 years.

Each image links to the books on Amazon but feel free to check out author websites to see if can get signed or special edition copies. Most of the books I read are available on Kindle Unlimited.

Age Gap Romance Books

In no particular order, I bring to you just a few of my favorite age gap romance books. There will be a short synopsis and my thoughts or any additional information you’ll need in the following paragraph of each book. May you find your next obsession.

The Masked Professor by Liz Zerkel

The Masked Professor by Liz Zerkel

Christine hasn’t wanted anything to do with music since her famous violinist father passed away. Still she agrees to add a theater minor to her degree and then lands the leading role in the University’s annual musical. Her professor wants more than just coaching the student who has enchanted him with her voice, even as he tries to avoid crossing those lines. Unfortunately, a childhood friend of Christine’s is threatening them both and Christine has to choose between continuing her degree or risking expulsion.

Mostly a taboo romance there are some darker scenes from this normally romantic comedy author. The mix of sweet, spice, and darkness is beautifully done. Written in third person POV this Phantom of the Opera re-imagining is perfect for those who always wanted Christine to choose the Phantom.

The Pucking Wrong Man by CR Jane

The Pucking Wrong Man by CR Jane

Ana had dreamed of dancing on the stage her entire life, even after a traumatizing injury that could have ended everything, she manages to pull herself back, even while dealing with more trauma. Camden attends a show with his neighbor and while he expected it to be boring he couldn’t take his eyes off of Ana. Let the obsession begin because there is nothing Camden wouldn’t do to get Ana in his arms and keep her there.

A hockey dark romance Camden takes his obsession beyond stalking by pulling every string he can to force Ana into his proximity, and I was here for it. This is book four in the Pucking Wrong series, and while standalones, the other books in the series are fantastic as well. It is written in first person dual POV, and if needed, make sure to check those trigger warnings.

Pretty Rings and Broken Things by Kat Singleton

Pretty Rings and Broken Things by Kat Singleton

Winnie and Archer’s families hate each other, but after someone used Winnie for revenge on her family Archer may be her only hope. Their father’s agree that the two should marry. With Archer’s influence, and a stake in her family’s hotel chain, he can save her reputation and the reputation of the business. It’s a win for Archer, but for Winnie, it’s a complete loss. She wanted to marry for love and now she was stuck in a marriage with her enemy.

A billionaire romance with a ten plus year age gap, it has marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and the obsessive MMC we all want in our books. Written in first person dual POV. This is book two in the Black Tie Billionaires series and the series is complete on KU.

Toy Shop by Eva Marks

Toy Shop by Eva Marks

After a bad experience with an ex, Nola isn’t interested in having sex. Except she’s surrounded by it on a daily basis working in a specialty store and filling orders for their customers. When one particular customer extends an offer to teach her how to use the toys she sells she agrees to one lesson. One lesson with Alistair turns into more and soon she’s ready to give her heart to him, if only he was willing to do the same.

Eva Marks is the queen of novella length, smutty, and most of the time dark romances. This wasn’t my first dive into the Eva-verse but it solidified her as one of my must read authors when I’m in the mood for something super spicy. If you are looking for a larger gap this age gap romance book has a significant span and the characters meet in adulthood, which is important to me. Written if first person dual POV Eva dives into the BDSM dynamic that is beautifully written.

My Favorite Kidnapper by Melanie Moreland

My Favorite Kidnapper by Melanie Moreland

Brianna has been busting her butt working for the world’s worst boss, so the last thing she needs is a tall handsome man stealing her cupcakes before she’s had a chance to finish the set up for the wedding she’s been hired for. She sure as hell wasn’t expecting Dante to whisk her away while she slept to Italy to be his private baker. At least he brought her cat with her.

If you need a laugh out loud, banter filled, spicy sweet romance, this one will fulfill every single requirement. I would say this book is a dark romantic comedy, but the only darkness comes in because he kidnaps her, other than that this is more rom com.

Nero by SJ Tilly

Nero by SJ Tilly

When a tall mysterious man walks through Peyton’s open patio door, she should be scared, but there is something about this man. Even while Nero knew he should have walked back out of those doors, he stuck around for awhile, and now the woman whose life he interrupted is in danger and he’d gladly kill anyone who threatened her. Because Peyton was his.

SJ Tilly is one of my comfort authors normally writing in rom coms, but this series was her dipping her toes into dark romance and the entire series had me in chokehold. Nero is unhinged, Peyton is a sweetheart, and their story was absolutely perfect.

Latte Darling by SJ Tilly

Latte Darling by SJ Tilly

Maddie has a wedding to attend and damnit, she doesn’t want to go alone. So she does what any woman in her early 30s would do and downloads an app to meet a potential wedding date. Except the man who shows up for their date is not the man from the app, instead it’s the guys father. And JACKPOT! Axel, however, swears up and down that he shouldn’t be interested in the woman his son was going to stand up. Except, he can’t seem to get her out of his mind.

This book will never not be on an age gap romance recommendation of mine. I loved this book, read it twice – in a row – because I didn’t want the story to end. I loved how the age gap romance started when the FMC is older. There was tension, heat, and the spice was fantastic. Latte Darling is a must read for anyone who enjoys the age gap trope.

Doc by KD Robichaux

Doc by KD Robichaux

Neil – AKA Doc – is a therapist who has dedicated his life to helping people. Astrid is a woman fresh out of a long term abusive relationship. What was supposed to be a weekend stay with the man turned into living with him full time for a year. Except they’re both struggling to ignore the pull they feel toward each other, while remembering how important it would be for Astrid’s mental health to not get involved with someone else after everything she went through.

This book comes with some pretty heavy trigger warnings. KD Robichaux writes spice and BDSM like no one else, but she also brings in these deep heartbreaking plots that will require a box of tissues being nearby. If you are looking for a beautiful story mixed with perfect levels of kinky goodness, this book along with every other book in Club Alias series, are perfect.

Golden Wings and Pretty Things by Kayleigh King

Golden Wings and Pretty Things by Kayleigh King

Indie’s life seems to be falling apart, and to make matters worse, her relationship with her boyfriend is also fizzling. Except his dad, Astor – Dean of the college she attends, is willing to help her. There’s a catch, she would belong to him.

If you are looking for a short and spicy age gap this one is it and it includes other taboo tropes like student/dean and boyfriend’s dad. This book is on the darker side with coercion and degradation. I highly recommend it along with the rest of the Fractured Rhymes series and anything written by Kayleigh King.

Praise by Sara Cate

Emerson asked Charlotte to kneel for him, and needing that rent deposit check, she does, except, Emerson didn’t realize Charlotte wasn’t another interview for a submission that his friend sent to him. Which also means he also didn’t realize she was his estranged son’s ex-girlfriend. After realizing the mistake, he apologizes profusely and explains the situation the best he can, Charlotte, however, is desperate for a job and maybe an education she didn’t know she needed. And Emerson would make the best teacher.

I do not recommend using fiction as a source for finding out more information on the BDSM community, typically. However, this book is such a great representation of it that I would recommend giving it a read, along with additional research. Furthermore, the story pulls you in and keeps you there. You love to see the character growth, and the way these two fall for each other. If you are looking for an age gap romance with a significant gap, this is the one for you.

Promises and Pomegranates by Sav R Miller

Promises and Pomegranates by Sav R Miller

After one night with Elena, Kal is ready to make her his, forever. And that’s exactly what he does. However, for Elena that one night was an act of rebellion against her family, a night solely for her. Now a man 12 years her senior is forcing her into a marriage and sweeping her off to a small town on an island.

I’m going to say it, this story is loosely, very loosely inspired by Hades and Persephone. Do not go into it thinking you are going to get that story though because with corruption, mafia, and darkness throughout the entire book, it is absolutely a contemporary dark romance. I highly recommend the entire series, but absolutely start with Kal and Elena.

Charming Your Dad by Sarah Blue

Charming Your Dad by Sarah Blue

When Blair’s boyfriend humiliates her with her arch nemesis. She vows to get revenge, and when Dax, her ex’s father, arrives in town, she knows exactly how to get revenge. Except, she wasn’t expecting to fall for him.

Charming Your Dad is a paranormal romance with age gap and ex’s dad tropes. There is plenty of spice and plot in this book as Blair is facing some issues with the Witch counsel and Dax is not human like his son. This is another age gap romance with a significant gap between the two main characters.

Twisted by Emily McIntire

Yasmin’s father falls ill and has given her his last request, that she marry a man of his choosing, but the truth is Yasmin loves a servent, someone her father would never approve of. Meanwhile Julian has worked with her father and is his right hand man. With his mentor falling ill, he’s not so willing to give up the power and fortune he helped the man build, even if it means forcing Yasmin into a marriage with him.

As with every book in the Never after series based on a fairy tale where the villain gets the girl, this one is loosely based on Aladdin. With forced marriage, enemies to lovers, and touch her and die tropes, this book is filled with good spice and a plot that will keep you reading late into the night.

Check out Twisted by Emily McIntire Review for my full thoughts.

Broken Whispers by Neva Altaj

Broken Whispers by Neva Altaj

When his Bratva Pakhan agrees to join into an alliance with the Italian Mafia, he raises his hand to marry Bianca, the daughter that’s being offered, even though he knows he shouldn’t. After a life of pain, raising a daughter as a single dad, there is no way this woman could fall for him, but he’ll do anything to protect her, even from her awful family.

With an age gap, single dad, and damaged hero the second book in Neva Altaj’s Perfectly Imperfect series will have you swooning. On the lighter side of dark romance it’s an excellent read along with the rest of the series. It will tug at your heart strings while also giving you the spice we all love.

Undressed by Jayne Katway

“The step-daughter of my enemy was being hunted for revenge, and I swore to protect her. I watched from the shadows, followed her across town, and searched for any threat to her. Then she surprised me, and I wasn’t easily surprised. I wanted – no – needed her. Desperate to keep her safe, when an unexpected opportunity arose, I forced her hand and made her mine.”

A shameless self-self promo, I couldn’t end this list without including my own Age Gap romance. You’ll likely love the eleven years difference, characters over the age of twenty-five, touch her and die, and a tortured but protective/obsessive MMC. This is a dark romance and it is better if you read the Unrelenting series in order though, so keep that in mind before diving in.
